Pizza Corner, the famous Valley City pizza spot known far and wide across the state of North Dakota. No matter who you are, what team you cheer for, or what toppings you're passionate about, we can all agree on one thing, Pizza Corner is the best pizza in the Midwest!
I had the pleasure of living within thirty miles of Valley City in my youth, and one thing was for certain, it was a good day if we were treated to Pizza Corner pizza. I grew up going to the popular eatery after many high school activities in Valley City. My husband grew up celebrating family birthdays and events with personal pies at the pizzeria. My parents grew up hanging out with classmates in the basement of the restaurant before it went through a renovation to be the configuration that it is today. It doesn't matter who you are, there is a nostalgia shared from generation to generation with unique experiences in connection to the famed establishment.
As mentioned earlier, Pizza Corner used to be much smaller! You can find the original booths from the initial design in the front lobby on either side of the main entrance. These were the only eating areas on the main level, and the rest of the seating was in the basement of the unit. Today, of course, we know the restaurant to house many seats. The main seating area is arranged with booths and tables, and there are two additional banquet rooms available upon request. With the addition comes a kid zone complete with indoor jungle gym and arcade style games lining the window wall. This area can be looked into by one of the additional banquet rooms suitable to host parties or large gatherings of any kind; making it the perfect place for family get togethers, organized functions, or company-wide meetings.
There are many qualities to admire about this business itself, but one of the best qualities of Pizza Corner lies within the staff. We're always met with a warm smile and welcome when entering the lobby. The staff is kind and always willing to help with anything that may come about. For instance, a couple weeks ago I was in need of hot water to warm my baby's bottle. Not only was there someone willing to bring a container of hot water to me, but my request was met with consideration and compassion. That may seem silly, or small to some people, but the world we live in isn't always so kind or generous. It's refreshing to know you're going to be a valued customer where you're spending your money.
We all come from different households, different religions, different traditions, different values, but it doesn't matter; we can all meet up for lunch at Pizza Corner and everyone will be happy. Whether you're a town local, a visiting relative, or a stranger passing by, Pizza Corner is a must-try stop for any person of any age. It's worth the hype and brags. If you've never tried it, it's time to treat yourself!
